John A. Brunkel

On November 24, 2023 of Washington Twp. Age 94. Beloved husband of Genevieve (nee Murawska). Devoted father of John Brunkel (Joanne) and Robert Brunkel (Doreen). Loving grandfather of Keli (Shean), Justin (Christirose), Robert, Jr. (Tara), Kevin, Gregory, and the late Jack. Proud great-grandfather of Aizlynn, Maekenna, Logan, Jaxon, Keegan, and Myla. Dear brother of Geraldine Henry, the late William, Roger, and Elizabeth. Loved by nieces and nephews.

Born at the beginning of the depression, Dad grew up poor but didn’t know it. While he didn’t have much, he was the most generous man we ever knew. He was honest, humble and direct as we always knew he was there for us regardless of the circumstance. Simplicity defined his life. Devoid of technology, he cherished face to face conversation. His past times included playing shuffle board with his friends and family with the occasional trip to Atlantic City. He was devoted to Mom (his wife) that spanned 73 years of marriage and was faithful to the core. We shall all miss him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 10:00 – 11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, 176 Stagecoach Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:45 AM.
