(nee Estes) On December 1, 2024, of Washington Twp. Age 81. Devoted mother of Caroline McMahon (Ed), Kathleen Eshelman (Keith) and Christopher Eggert (Lisa). Loving grandmother of Eddie (Kate), Erin (Zach), Alyssa, Briana, Brandon, Christopher and Emily (Steven). Proud great-grandmother of Riley, Avery and Ellie. Dear sister of William Estes, Audrey Vanderslice, Gregory Estes and the late Virginia Sullivan.
Joanne was born May 24th, 1943 in Philadelphia to Archie and Mary Estes. She graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1961. She married Chick Eggert on February 2, 1963 and they had 3 children together. Joanne worked various jobs throughout her life. She then made the decision to go back to school to become a registered nurse, from which she retired from in 2010. Joanne especially loved spending holidays and birthdays with her family, cooking and baking everyone’s favorite dishes, creating fond memories. Joanne loved music, playing Scrabble and reading. Joanne also enjoyed traveling with friends; volunteering at her church and her community and was always willing to help others in need.
Family and friends and invited to attend her visitation Thursday 10:30 AM-12:00 PM at SS Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Joanne’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association
