Joanna Stewart
(nee Landolfi) On November 3, 2023, of Sicklerville. Age 76. Beloved wife of the late Daniel. Devoted mother of Selene Stewart. Loving grandmother of Tory Henn. Dear sister of the late Ferinand Landolfi. Dear sister-in-law of Elizabeth Landolfi.
Joanna Stewart was born and raised in South Philadelphia in the 1950’s, surrounded by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, and cousins. She graduated from Saint Maria Goretti High School and moved out to attend Temple University for college. Around this time she met her future husband, Dan Stewart.
Joanna and Dan took a motorcycle trip through Europe and then married when they returned to the States. In 1972 they had their daughter, Selene. Joanna obtained a Master’s in English Literature, which she used to work in higher education, and then eventually moved into Management Consulting. She was a manager for most of her career at Towers Perrin in Philadelphia, where she made lasting connections with coworkers from all around the world.
Joanna loved the seashore, and she and Dan eventually purchased a beach house in Sea Isle City, where they enjoyed many beautiful years bird-watching and sunbathing. This house was a gathering place for family and friends, including Selene and her family when they visited from Chicago, Joanna’s friends Betsy and Jack, and Joanna’s brother and his wonderful family. After Dan passed away, Joanna moved to New Jersey, close to her brother and his family, who were her rocks during her retirement years.
Joanna’s illness took her from us too soon, and she will be missed by the many people whose lives she touched.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday 9:00-10:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral service 10:00 AM. Interment, Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill.
