Joan B. Herron
(nee Kakolewski) 86, of Mantua, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2026. Joan was born on September 8th, 1939, in Camden, NJ, to John and Sabina Kakolewski. After marrying Edward Michael Herron, they eventually moved to Mantua. Here, they raised their son Edward John, while living a life filled with family, faith, fun, and friends. They loved going to the casinos, cruising all over the world, and spending time with loved ones. They were active members of their church and community.
After the death of her husband, Joan spent much of her time with her cousin, Geraldine Cook. They were the best of friends. She was also very active in the Mantua Township Senior Group. Here, she made countless friends and memories, especially with Rosemarie and Rhonda, both of whom had a special connection with her. Joan loved to spend time with her family, often expressing enormous pride in her grandchildren, Brett and Madelyn. When she wasn’t with family and friends, she enjoyed watching the Phillies and cheering on her favorite player, Brandon Marsh.
Ed and Donna would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Juniper Village of Washington Square, who have provided such great care to Joan in the past few months. Their love and dedication was nothing short of amazing.
Joan will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew her. Her joy and laughter will live on in the memories of those who loved her. May she rest in peace. 9
