Joan Foster (nee Powers), 82, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 15.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Joan graduated from West Catholic School for Girls and began working for Bell Telephone of Pennsylvania. She met her husband, John, at a USO dance. They married, had a family and eventually moved to Turnersville, New Jersey. Joan retired from Bell after 30 years of service. After retirement, she worked at Camden County College and enjoyed helping people through volunteer work. She didn’t travel much but when she did, she enjoyed day trips to the New Jersey Shore and vacationing in Ocean City, Maryland.
Joan is survived by her daughter, Donna Rubba (Michael); son John Foster, Jr. (Amy); grandchildren Kathleen Foster and Amanda Foster; sister Patricia Goslin (Joseph); nephew Michael Goslin (Kimberly); niece Maureen Augustine (Bruce); and her faithful companion, Kiera.
Joan’s life will be honored and remembered privately by her family.
