Jerry J. Callahan

On October 29, 2023 of Washington Twp. Age 85. Loving husband of the late Gerry Callahan, who he reunited after 28 years. Fantastic father of Dina Callahan (John Hartley), Frank Callahan (Patti), and Gary Callahan (Lori). Poppy to Kim, Michael, Frank (Theresa), Ashley (Jarrid), Sean, and Brendan. Great poppy to Aiden Henry, and Kay Kay Bramble. Survived by his fur buddy, “Jakie-poo”.

He was loved by so many people, a joy to be around. He always had a great smile. He loved his family and did whatever he could for everyone. He had so many amazing friends. His dream job was working for the Philadelphia Flyers. After he retired from SIM-KAR and missing his wife, he started volunteering for the Flyers. They put him on the payroll eventually; and he worked there for 20 years. He has been a Flyers fan since the beginning. 1967 was his first year as a season ticket holder. He had an amazing Flyers work family and helped so many.

Always known for his beautiful smile, his humor and giving the best hugs. Jerry would love if everyone in attendance would wear their favorite Flyers gear to show your love for him and his favorite team.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Sunday 5:00 – 7:00 PM and Monday 8:15 – 9:15 AM at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 10:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Roman Catholic Church, Washington Twp. Interment Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to Tunnel to Towers at www.t2t.org.

Dad I can't believe that you ate gone. But knowing that you are with Mom again after 28 years makes it easier. She is the Love of your life. I have always been your little girl no matter how old I got. I treasured our close relationship, Not everyone is blessed with such a loving wonderful Dad like you have been through my life. You were not only mt Daddy but you were also my Best Friend. You were loved by so many, and touched so many lives in things you did. I am so Proud that I got the chance to call you My Dad. As promised to you I will be Okay, I have John and so many of your friends to help me through this difficult time. You were a Wonderful Loving Husband, Great Dad and the Best Poppy Ever. I love you and you will surely be missed. Until we meet again....You fought a tough journey so now it is time for you to Rest In Peace ❤️❤️

Dear Dina,Me and Cathy are so sorry to hear of your Father's passing. I remember Uncle Jerry as a kind and gentle person with a huge heart. I tell my kids and grandkids that your Dad is the #1 Flyers Fan in the World. I always thought of your Dad & Mom (Uncle Jerry & Aunt Gerry to me) as a match made in heaven. They truly love each other with all their hearts and are now together in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jerry was a wonderful friend for many, many years. Had a smile and a hug for everyone. Will always remember the countless amount of shows we attended together. He will be missed in so many ways.

Jerry brightened so many lives with his friendliness, wit and great smile and laugh! I was so blessed to know him through the Flyers Fan Club and spent many wonderful times with him at lots of events. I will never forget the time he invited me to join him and a few others to see the play “The Lion King”. I know he loved the Theater, the Dodgers and of course the Flyers. Rest easy with your beloved wife in the embrace of the Lord, my friend. My sincere condolences to Dina, his sons and their families and his friends.

Dina, you and your family will be in our thoughts and prayers. Your dad was a wonderful person and always had a great smile on his face. I know how much he will be missed especially by you.
