James Rebstock, age 68, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday afternoon, March 11, 2021. James loved his family, basketball, and, ultimately, the Bible. He was a great husband and father that cared for seven children with ages currently ranging between 31 and 43. He was blessed to see nine grandchildren. Jim was well known in the South Jersey area for his remarkable basketball ability. He played varsity for four years with the Gloucester High Lions and scored over 1,000 points.
Jim spent most of his career in newspapers and as a moving estimator where he used his impressive math abilities and quick wit. He also was co-owner of Reby’s Bagels, a bagel business ahead of its time in Washington Township, NJ.
Jim was a follower of Jesus Christ that shared the Good News of Jesus at in-home Bible studies on Thursday nights, or any time for that matter! He did extensive research of the Bible especially the Book of Revelation. He was a very thorough student of the Bible. Now he gets to spend eternity with the Author and Finisher of his faith!
Jim is survived by beloved wife Doris Anne (nee Williams) and his seven children: David James, Deborah Anne Travers (Brian), Michael James (Shannon), Joshua James, Rachel Elizabeth Johnston (Andrew), Jonathan James, and Benjamin James. Jim also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Aiden, Sage, Rebecca, Gavin, Hannah, Alana, Demi, Alexandria, and Luke.
Jim was the son of the late Theodore and Elizabeth Rebstock. He was a dear brother to Thomas (Rosemary), late William (Dawn), Theodore (Margaret), Ricky (Terry), and Linda and an uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service in Jim’s honor on Sunday, March 21, 2021 @ 3:00pm at Fellowship Bible Church, 590 Jackson Road, Sewell, NJ 08080.
In lieu of flowers or a memorial donation, the surviving relatives of Jim believe that he would want you to “confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead”, so “you will be saved” (Romans 10:9-10).
