JAMES R. McKEEVER, SR.

AGE 73 OF WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP NJ, SUDDENLY WENT HOME TO BE WITH HIS LORD AND SAVIOR ON OCTOBER 27TH, 2023. JIM WILL BE LOVINGLY REMEMBERED BY HIS WIFE KATHLEEN OF 45 YEARS. HIS 5 CHILDREN JAYME LEE-ANN, JAMES ROBERT MCKEEVER JR.(NATALIE), JOSEPH MICHAEL MCKEEVER (AMY), JILLIAN MAUREEN DICINTIO, (RICHARD), AND JACOB THOMAS MCKEEVER. HE HAD 18 GRANDCHILDREN, TYLER, JAMES III, RILEY, EMILY, DYLAN, RICHARD III, LOGAN, RYAN, CHRISTIAN, LANDON, ADALYN, CHARLOTTE, MADISON, ARIA, MASON, REESE, NOLAN AND CADEN. HE LOVED HIS FAMILY AND WAS A DEVOTED SPOUSE, FATHER, AND POP POP.

JIM SPENT HIS ENTIRE CAREER IN THE PUBLIC SECTOR FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AS THE DIRECTOR OF MUNICIPAL SERVCES OF WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP. HE WAS THE SUPERINTENDENT OF GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP PUBLIC WORKS AND THE DIRECTOR OF FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP PUBLIC WORKS. HE DEVOTED HIS ENTIRE CAREER TO SERVING THE PUBLIC IN MANY CAPACITIES.

JIM AND HIS WIFE, KATHLEEN SPENT MANY YEARS JUST ENJOYING THEIR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THEY LOVED TO GO TO THE SHORE IN OCEAN CITY, WINERIES, DINNERS AND SHOWS WITH THEIR FRIENDS. JIM NEVER WANTED TO STOP ENJOYING HIS LIFE. HE SPENT HIS SUNDAY’S AT CALVARY CHAPEL CHURCH IN TURNERSVILLE, AND SUNDAY NIGHTS WITH HIS FRIENDS OF THE MISSION. EVERY MORNING JIM RACED TO SAM’S FOR MORNING COFFEE WITH HIS HIGHLAND HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING CREW. JIM HAD A LOVE FOR COOKING, GARDENING, AND HE LOVED TO MAKE HOMEMADE JELLY FROM HIS GARDEN. HE COULDN’T WAIT TO SHARE HIS CROP WITH HIS FRIENDS AND FAMILY. HE RETIRED AND WENT BACK TO WORK 2 OR 3 TIMES HE JUST COULDN’T STAY STILL.

JIM WILL BE MISSED BY HIS FAMILY AND FRIENDS, WHO WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HIM WITH LOVE.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND HIS VIEWING SATURDAY 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM AT CALVARY CHAPEL, 5360 RT. 42, TURNERSVILLE, NJ 08012. FUNERAL SERVICE 12:00 PM.

Condolences to the McKeever Family. I have fond memories of my High School friend.

Our deepest condolences to your family. I know we were only acquaintances but Jimmy was the life of the party. Always happy and had everyone laughing. Prayers to your family.

I was so very sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. Jim devoted his life to public service. No one could have done the type of work that Jim did without not just knowing what to say, but knowing how to get things done and done professionally and very well. He also was truly a good man, good family man, husband and father. Aside from working with him in several places, I enjoyed our our talks of wrestling back in the day and good natured jabs that we gave each other about the Highland - Paulsboro rivalry. My wife and I are traveling today but please accept these sincere condolences at this difficult moment. Way too soon for such a good man.

Please accept the condolences from the Dougan family. Jim opened his home to our grandson Tyler and watched him grow into a wonderful young man. We will always be grateful to him. Our heart goes out to Kathy and all the children.

I am so very sad and will miss Jimmy deeply. Paul and I will have a forever void without him. We loved sharing thoughts, philosophies, politics, and religion with him. I especially loved sharing and comparing wines. In the depth of our sadness, we feel a sense of gratitude. We are eternally grateful to call him our friend whom we love immensely. We love Kathy just as much. May the family find peace in love.

Dear Jill, Mrs. McKeever and the entire family: My deepest condolences for your loss. My thoughts and prayers have been with you for several days now. Many childhood memories, especially the soccer ones, with Mr. McKeever. I am glad I was able to run into him only a few months ago for one last conversation. Unfortunately I am unable to attend services but will be thinking of you all during this tough time.

Jimmy was a true GENTLEMAN . I witnessed up close how he loved and cared for his beloved Kathleen ! It was a pleasure to watch ! My heartfelt condolences to the wonderful McKeever family over the loss of their Patriarch ! I offer all my love and support ! God bless !

My deepest condolences to the family. Jimmy and I went to Highland together and often “dined” in the cafeteria with a big group of friends. Dedicated to the wrestling team, he was a good man, even when was still a boy. His memory is a blessing to all who knew him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jim while Kathy and I both worked at Dr . Sasso’s office. What a warm friendly, kind person. The first time I met him, he made you feel like you have know him for many years. The love in his eyes as he spoke about his wife and family could never be repeated. God has gained a true angel. You will be missed.

KATHY…I am so sorry to hear about your forever soul mate passing through the heavenly gates so suddenly and surprisingly. I only kept in touch with you through social media from the Jamie/Jill days but I always liked you and your sense of humor. Jim was quiet and I didn’t know him well but through you I saw the love you shared with each other and what a wonderful husband, father and grandpop he was. Prayers for you and your family. ???

Jimmy was often a fixture at Shower Club gatherings and would always cook up a feast for us when it was Kathy's turn to host! I am so sorry for the sudden loss of your soul mate, Kathy, and for the rest of the family, as well. May your many happy memories together be a comfort to you all! Kathy, I am heartbroken ? I know there is nothing I can say to help ease the pain. Just know that he was loved. We lost touch over the years and life took us in different directions, but I will always have such fond memories of our times together. I wish I could be there but I live in n.c. You are in my heart. I know when our loved ones pass, it is so hard. But knowing Jesus and knowing Jim is in His presence brings joy and peace. If you ever want to come to be by yourself at any time to grieve, I am here and you will always be welcome. Love Robin (Leathem)
