James P. Holliday, Jr., age 87, of Washington Township left this world on June 22, 2014. James was born in Rock Island, IL on March 12, 1927 to James Pleasant Holliday and Edith Campbell Holliday. He is survived by the love of his life, married 66 years, Marion Jane Holliday (nee Bell). He will be sadly missed by his loving children James W. Holliday (Nancy), Robin A. Barton (Russell), Mark C. Holliday (Maribeth), Scott M. Holliday (Elizabeth), Christoher B. Holliday and Todd A. Holliday. He is a loving grandfather to Kimberly Holliday, Megan Wentzell (Keith), Maureen Allen (Ian), Mark Jacob Holliday, Benjamin Paradise Holliday, Jennifer Kissell (Cody), Michaela Ann Holliday and Caitlyn Jane Holliday. He is the proud great-grandfather of Erin Holliday, Kieran Allen, Lawson Wentzell and Calvin Kissell.

James earned the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 13. He served in the US Navy for 24 years, attaining the rank of Lieutanant before retiring in 1969. During his military career he was a Korean War Veteran serving as a combat corpsman with the first Marine Division. Following retirement from the Navy, James was a hospital administrator at Temple University Hospital and St. Agnes Burn Center, both in Philadelphia. He taught the confirmation class at Apostle’s Lutheran Church for over 35 years.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 7:00 – 9:00 pm at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service Saturday 10:00 am at Apostle’s Lutheran Church, 4401 Route 42, Washington Twp. Interment Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown.
