James J. Quigley
On October 16, 2017, of Washington Twp. Age 81.
Jim was born on June 25, 1936 to William H. and Annette Quigley of Southwest Philadelphia, PA. He has been married to Lorrie (McAdoo) for 59 years. His family includes daughters Maureen & Kathleen, son-in-law Christopher Hudak, and four grandchildren: James, Katie, Stacey and Shannon. James J. Dear brother of Gloria Beam, Anita Moorehead, Madonna Wayne, and the late William, Jr., Dolores Quigley, IHM, Gerri St. Leger and Donald Taylor.
Jim grew up in Southwest Philadelphia. He attended Good Shepherd Parish, West Catholic High School (1954) and graduated Villanova University in 1958. He was a lifeguard in Ocean City in the Gardens and at 26th Street Beach. After marrying Lorrie, He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in June 1958 and served honorably. He was discharged in 1961 and enlisted in the Reserve where he served for 17 more years. He retired as Major.
He moved to Turnersville, NJ in March of 1967 and he joined St. Jude’s Church which became Holy Family Parish. He first became a lector there and eventually became a member of the Knights of Columbus, ultimately obtaining a rank of fourth degree.
He sold commercial and industrial real estate and joined Bushar Corporation. He enjoyed his work, loved the “art of the deal” and made many friends along the way.
Jim loved his wife and family, spending time with his grandchildren, his church, golf, sailing, relaxing at the beach, traveling, telling a good joke, or a bad joke, raising a glass with friends, donating his time and resources to those less fortunate, volunteering with the Knights of Columbus and his church, and dancing and holding hands with Lorrie.
His was truly a life well lived. He will be sorely missed!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM at the Church of the Holy Family, 226 Hurffville Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 12:45 PM. Interment Private.
