James J. Pomante
Surrounded and cared for by his devoted family, James Joseph Pomante, 65, of Mullica Hill, New Jersey, laid his head to rest on November 29, 2023. Jimmy was a Union Carpenter with Philadelphia Local 1050, (Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters) until he retired at the age of 55. His exceptional finish work can be seen throughout Philadelphia, most notably The Kimmel Center. His perfectionism and work ethic was second to none, and although that was his life’s work, his proudest accomplishment was the family that he and Lorraine created. He enjoyed Sunday dinners and a house full of those he loved the most. His blue eyes shined the brightest when looking at his grandbabies, and no task was too great when it came to helping his children. Jimmy was a selfless man, always making sure to look his best in his dress sweats, and always putting everyone before himself. The devotion he had for his family will live on in their hearts forever.
Jimmy will be forever loved and deeply missed by his wife of 43 years, Lorraine (Ponzio). Also left on this earth to cherish his memory are his children, Jay Pomante and his wife Stephanie, Lisa-Marie Pomante, and Alexa Lynch and her husband, Michael, his grandbabies Gemma, Cecilia, James, Vienna and Lydia, and his Mother-in-Law, AnnMarie (Bruno) Ponzio. He was preceded in death by his parents James and Vanda (Gazzotti) Pomante. His good advice along with his joking spirit and mischievous laugh will be missed by many family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation, Saturday, December 9th 9:00-11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM.
