James A. DiRenzo
On December 19, 2022 of Mullica Hill. Age 90. Beloved husband of the late Rose (nee Doto). Devoted father of James DiRenzo (Donna) and Michele DiSipio (Michael). Loving grandfather of Allison (Pat), Jillian (Evan), Michael, Marc (Alyssa), Elisa (Brent), and Morgan. Proud great-grandfather of Patrick, Cooper, Wesley, Levi, Layla, Logan, and Brody. Dear brother of the late Frank DiRenzo, the late Umberto DiRenzo, the late Christine DeMayo, the late Thomas DiRenzo, and the late Rudolph DiRenzo. Loved by nieces and nephews.
James DiRenzo’s world was centered around his love for his family. He could often be found sharing stories from his past with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Some stories discussed wine making with his father, his service in the Korean War, or simply his love for his wife, Rose. Regardless of what he was sharing, his unwavering dedication to the ones he loved always proved prominent.
James spent much of his life as a bartender, making many friendships and Manhattans. When he was not behind the bar, he was usually in the kitchen, cooking a menu of favorites like meatballs and gravy, roast beef, and eggplant parmesan. In his later years, his passion for cooking and being Italian developed into a love for making Limonciello and jarring both pickles and tomatoes.
James loved to spend his days watching the Philadelphia Phillies, cheering on Duke basketball, or dreaming of log cabins deep in the woods. He loved to take trips with his wife to Florida, or with his family to destinations like Nashville, Disney, and the Outer Banks. He often could be found sitting in the hot summer sun, singing or humming songs like “The Summer Wind” or “On the Way to Cape May”. James never missed out on a moment to live his life and always pursued his passions.
James DiRenzo will forever be remembered as a loving and caring man. One who always had the interests of his friends and family dear to his heart. Anyone who met James instantly loved everything about him. He has created a loving family that will miss him every day but will cherish every moment spent with him. They know that he is now smiling from above with his wife, Rose, at the beautiful lives they have created.
