On May 5, 2026 of Washington Township. Age 60. Beloved husband of Linda (nee Meo). Devoted father of Amanda Capote (Corey), Haley Brekke (Max), and Jaime Cassidy (Brad). Beloved Pop-Pop to Ella, Emilia, and two precious grandchildren on the way. Cherished son of Betty and the late Wayne Thorpe Sr. Dear brother of Wayne Thorpe Jr. (Cyndi) and Elizabeth Bononno (Mike). Beloved brother-in-law of Larry and Mary Meo, Ed and Rebecca DeLuise, Diane Meo, John and Doreen Meo, Joanne and Michael Orlandi, and Valerie Thorpe. Dear son-in-law of Vicki and the late Larry Meo. Loved by many nieces and nephews.
Glenn was born and raised in Long Valley, NJ, spending summers in Pocono Pines with his parents and his two siblings, Wayne and Betsy. He graduated from Glassboro State College with a degree in Sales and Marketing. Most recently he served on the Executive Advisory Council of the business school at his alma mater, now Rowan University, to help young professionals start their careers.
In college he met the love of his life, Linda, starting a lifelong commitment of 37 years. They quickly started fulfilling their dreams of starting a family and making a home, first in Sewell surrounded by extended family, later in Kinnelon NJ, then empty nesting in Philadelphia, and finally back to Sewell. Wherever they were, Glenn spent his life providing for and showing up for his girls, with whatever they needed, whenever they asked.
Glenn held multiple senior positions in Sales, Marketing and Business Development at Becton Dickinson, West Pharmaceuticals, and Datwyler Pharmaceuticals. Retiring from full-time work in 2023, he recently found a passion consulting in a new venture with Congruence Medical Solutions, bringing innovative medical devices to pediatric oncology. In his career he was widely respected, forming many close friendships and professional relationships across Europe, Asia and South America.
Glenn loved traveling, which he did for both work and leisure. But his favorite place to go was the shore house in Ocean City, NJ, which he started to call his second home in 2007. Glenn’s love for beaches, boats, and deep-sea tuna fishing all stem back from his childhood memories of going to his Nan and Pop’s house in Barnegat, NJ. His love of seafood developed from a summer working on the boardwalk in Seaside Heights, shucking oysters. He found so much joy in making food for others, including his famous crabs, clams, oysters, homemade pesto, and turkey soup.
In addition to the beach, he loved the Giants, Yankees, and snuggling on the couch on Sundays with his furriest “daughter,” Maggie, watching any sporting event. He was playful in so many ways: showing his competitive side playing volleyball, tennis, ping pong, foosball, board games with his kids, and Four Square or Spike Ball on the beach with anyone who would participate. Anytime there were kids in the room they would gravitate towards him and sense his willingness to play.
He loved hiking and was very active, especially while living in Kinnelon, with his beloved golden retriever, Buddy. But the ones who kept him the most active recently were the greatest joys of his life, his two granddaughters Ella and Emilia. They always had their Pop-Pop running around playing hide and seek, singing and dancing to Disney music, building sandcastles on the beach, or chasing the birds.
One of the lasting impressions Glenn made on us all was his ability to laugh (or wheeze), either teasing, making jokes, or sharing his bold opinions. We ask that you continue to honor him by finding joy even in the darkest moments, appreciating a beautiful sunset, a walk on the beach, or surrounding yourself with love and support.
Family and friends are welcome to attend his visitation on Monday, May 11th 6:00 – 8:00 PM, and Tuesday, May 12th 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Glenn’s memory made be made to the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI).
