Gerard J. Huckel

On May 21, 2024 of Washington Twp. Age 73. Beloved husband of Tina (nee Landay). Devoted father of Timothy Huckel, James Huckel (Denise), Kristen Huckel, and Justin Huckel. Loving grandfather of Dominic, Drew, and Mackenzie. Dear brother of Charles Huckel, Kevin Huckel, Kate Cashman, Denise Yeager, and the late Brian Huckel and Robert Huckel. Loved by nieces and nephews.

Jerry worked as a machinist and supervisor in the Navy Yard. He was then an industrial analyst for the Department of Defense for many years until he retired in 2007. He then completed his student teaching, did several long-term substitute teacher jobs, and eventually became a permanent teacher at Washington Township High School. He enjoyed walking any-and-everywhere (the park, “the mart”, the mall, and especially the beach). He loved spending time with his grandchildren and going to their many games. He was the family handyman. He enjoyed figuring out how to fix things and the work of fixing them. He enjoyed family parties/holidays and spending time with all his family members (wife, children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, in-laws, and nieces and nephews). He loved and was loved by so many.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at Saints Peter & Paul RC Church. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Veterans Helping Veterans, PO Box 337, Woodbury, NJ 08096.
