I had the honor of meeting Fred this past year. I worked with him as his physical therapist on two different occasions, and could not have met a nicer man who was facing obstacles with such grace and dignity. I learned so much from him in the short time that I knew him- my heartfelt sympathy to his wife and family…

Casta Family, so sorry for your loss. Freddie was an incredible human being who will be greatly missed by all. I met Freddie in 2011 when I was hired at The Bannett Group. Freddie immediately took me under his wing and showed me the ropes and I will never forget that. He was always there for me whenever I needed him for advice or just to talk about life in general. He always asked about my boys and always shared stories of his family which he took great pride in. RIP Freddie, gone but never forgotten.

Joni - I was so sorry to hear the news of Freddie's passing. I have such fond memories of when Magic Bus shared the stage with Push at the Rainbow in Wildwood and when we played together in Dawn. My heartfelt condolences to you and family. Ahmet

Joni it is my wish that the lord gives you the strength to go on without one of the best men he ever made. Each day has gotten harder for me since his passing knowing I won’t see that smile, hear that boisterous laugh, or have that sounding board when life got me down. He was a great friend, more like a brother to me. He always had the right words for everyone and every situation. There was nobody that didn’t like Freddie! He had the uncanny ability to sort through all the peripherals and get to the source and target a solution. Joni you were the love of his life and he made us aware of that love even in your absence. He was a great golf buddy, and a man to emulate. Joni please know that you are both in my prayers and I am certain that he will continue to look down to protect and guide us until we me our maker and join him again. Freddie you are sorely missed and thanks for being my friend!

They say that your Cousins are your first friends. This could never be more true than my cousin Freddy. Freddy, Anthony and I were the three middle cousins of the Casta Family, second generation. None of us were old enough to get the blame or young enough to be innocent of any mischief. At the age of 6 or 7 we would usually meet at "The House" on 6th & Moore. This was GrandPops house, but his daughter and her family lived there with him. Out of the five Casta Brothers all but one had at least a son. Sundays in South Philadelphia were when all the family would get together for a Sunday Dinner. Before Dinner there was usually nothing to do but watch TV and that was not good enough for the cousins. We would all end up on Moore St playing some kind of kid game. It could have been run the bases or tag but whatever game it was you would work up a sweat. Except for Freddy, his Dad would come outside and pull him out of the game and tell him to stop sweating. His Dad Spike was the funny uncle. As we got a little bit older the family would head over to Jersey to Lake Worth. A Cedar Lake with an area to cook and enjoy the outdoors with family. Freddy at this age looked just like Olympic Swimmer Mark Spitz. Those days passed way to quickly and the next thing you know Freddy and his family are in NJ and starting his singing career. I joined the Navy and my first Summer on leave, I headed down to Wildwood to catch up with my Cuz. Freddy always had a hug and a kiss for you no matter where or when you saw him. As the years past, the only times unfortunately we would see each other was when an Aunt or an Uncle passed away. I'll miss my Cousin!

The thing I remember most about Freddie is how gentlemanly he was on the golf course. We played against each other many times and he always tried as hard as he could but whether win or lose he was always the same. I was very lucky to get to know him and all his friends in the Washington Township area through the game of golf.
Joseph S. De Vito left a message on October 31, 2022:
There are times in life when in trying to convey sorrow or heartfelt grief for a loss suffered words seem to be inadequate. This is one such time. And to you Joanie I am certain that there are no words, despite how skillfully the sentences are crafted or the words chosen, that could lessen the grief or sorrow you are experiencing in this process. 49 years ago I was asked to join the band Push as a second guitarist thereby becoming a bandmate and meeting Freddie for the first time. He showed up at my house with his then Volkswagen beetle to cart both of us down to wildwood to join the rest of the guys to work the rainbow room with the Magic Bus .What a blessing to get paid for something I did for free and to do it with a great bunch of guys. At that time we had two vocalists Freddie and his cousin Andrew and boy could those guys bring it vocally. .the harmonies were sick. Eventually there were personelle changes that occurred in the band as some guys moved on but one thing was certain that Freddie Casta was the heart and soul of Push. I could probably wear my self out listing descriptive adjectives trying to describe all of Freddie’s good points. The thing is He had it all Talent, personality and the thing I most remember is my mother was happier to see him than me if we walked in together . imagine that ! The most important thing that I will say about Freddie is that the world was indeed a better place because He lived in it. And that we are better for having had known him. May God comfort you Joni and be your strength, and I’m sure I speak for my bandmates when I say that we will always fondly remember Freddie as the brother from another mother he is to us.

Uncle Freddie. I’m so grateful for all of the memories throughout the years and will cherish them . I’m one of the lucky ones to call you Uncle, and also a bonus dad. You gave the best advice. You had the most calming voice and kindest heart. I will miss our daily chats and texts, our dancing and holiday face times where we sing till you and Aunt Joni throw up. I know you’re with Marie and Spike and Fran catching up but I’m so upset because I wanted more of you here. Kiss them for me. I’ll make sure AJ is a ok and keep everyone together as always. Love you and will miss you forever. -me

Dear Joni and family, my sincerest condolences on the passing of my dear friend Freddie. He was the most talented, funny and charismatic person I have ever known in my life. I had the pleasure of sharing the same stage with Freddie as the drummer for the band Dynasty for many years. We made so many cherished memories over the years together and continued our friendship for over 40 years. I am heartbroken and will miss you so much my friend. Until we meet again, I love you brother!

I have lost not only a loving friend who over the years I have loved as a brother and a part of our respective families, but we all have lost a man who shared his love and kindness with so many that Freddie's passing leaves a void in many lives. He is gone, but he lives on forever in out hearts. He is a rest with his maker. Amen.

As a member of the band dynasty I was privledged to play piano for Freddie for about 15 years. His voice was second to none. He was more than a bandmate, he was a brother. To this day we conversed thru text or phone almost daily. We participated in a reunion last august in A.C. and after 40 years he was nothing short of perfection. My condolences to Joni and his entire family. I am so fortunate to have had him in my life and I will miss him terribly.

Dear Joni and Family; Words cannot express how sorry we are for your loss. Freddie was one of the nicest guys you’d ever want to know. He was genuinely a good person and a true, talented gentleman. The years we all sang together at SS Peter & Paul were great times. He is absolutely singing in heaven! He’s probably leading the choir of angels already! Unfortunately I won’t be able to be with you physically next week due to a medical problem but will be there in spirit. Our prayers are with you all. Sincerely, Lenny & Dolores Casoli
