On December 13, 2023, of Franklinville. Age 90. Beloved husband of the late Dolores. Devoted father of Frank Schmidt (Cathy). Loving grandfather of Zach and Samantha. Dear brother of the late Robert, Alice, and Freda. Loved by nieces and nephews.

Smitty was in the Marines and fought in the Korean war. When in high school, he played football and baseball for Audubon High. He was a great father; gave Frank his football and baseball skills, always was there, and never missed a game. He was a well liked man and a man who wasn’t afraid of the dance floor   He was an amazing and supportive Pop-Pop and father-in-law.

Franklin’s life will be honored and remembered privately by his family.
