Frances Cirino
Frances Mary (nee Pitrone) on October 8th, 2023, at 86. Beloved wife of the late Daniel for 63 years. Born in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn on February 28th, 1937, to the late Peter & Nancy (nee LeDonne). Dan & Fran resided in Holiday City, Williamstown, NJ for the past 30 years. Devoted Mother of Roseann Baron (Michael), Daniel J. Cirino Jr (Janice) and Nancy Witherow (Joseph). Loving Grandmother of Matthew, Steven, Robert, Jennifer, Jacqueline, Joseph & Daniel III. Dear sister to Mary Meo (the late Dominic) & Domenica “Mae” Mesto (the late Frank). Caring Sister-in-law to Joseph (Marie) Cirino & Jerry Cirino (Joy Kantor).
Fran, the president of her senior class, graduated from Bay Ridge High School in 1954, specializing in business administration. Her trademark was her “short hair” and her favorite thing to do was “sleep.” Fran’s first job was as a stenographer for Prudential at the Woolworth Building in Manhattan. Fran met Dan, through her cousin Rose, the two wed at Regina Pacis Basilica in Brooklyn on April 19th, 1959, and Fran and Dan moved to South Jersey to raise their family. Dan would describe Fran as a “fun loving, energetic, live wire.” She had a love for dancing in her early years, winning a contest for dancing the “Mamba, Chacha and Merengue” in Miami, Florida in 1958. In Philadelphia Fran began a successful career working as a paralegal for several prominent law firms in the area including Ballard Spahr, Kalikhman, and Mckerny & Sons Adoption Law. Fran was proud of her “96 words a minute” record and her ability to whip up a large legal document with 0 errors, every time.
Fran was the matriarch of her family and loved spending time with them, especially down the Jersey Shore. She always said her greatest accomplishment was being a loving Mother and Grandmother to her beautiful family. Fran was actively involved with her children’s school, St. Stephen’s as the treasurer of the PTA, substitute teacher & librarian. Fran was the epitome of the perfect Grandmother, affectionately known as “Nana” by her 7 grandchildren who she cherished immensely. Fran loved traveling all over with her family and loved to be “out and about.” She was the glue that held her family together, through thick & thin. Fran always had a warm smile and was always ready to embrace her family with a hug and kiss no matter the situation. She will be dearly missed by all who were lucky enough to know this incredibly resilient woman!
