Ernst H. Deuter
“Ernie, Big E, Pop”
On September 25, 2022 of Mullica Hill. Age 83, died of a broken heart; after the passing of his son and best friend Daniel on August 8, 2022.
Devoted father of Ernst “Ernie” Deuter (Sharon), Connie Doto, Christopher Deuter (Pamela), and the late Daniel Deuter (Susan). Loving grandfather of Lisa (Chris), Ryan (Lydia), Louis, Gina, and Nicole. Proud great-grandfather of Olivia, Leo, Kurt, and Lilly. Dear brother of Beatrice Crecelius (the late Kenneth), the late Frank Deuter, the late Joan Macchia (the late Tony), and the late Donnie Deuter. Survived by his lifetime friend, Georgeann Krause.
In his teenage years, Ernie found himself interested in construction. Often helping local carpenters after school and on weekends, who were building new homes in his Haddon Heights neighborhood. He used these skills and knowledge throughout his life and passed them along to his sons. Ernie always had a love of cars and motorcycles and a has owned many of each. This was also a passion that he passed on to his sons. As a young man, he spent time riding his motorcycle throughout the country.
In his 40’s Ernie took up golf to help him relax but found it frustrating (HaHa). He enjoyed playing in a league and continued playing throughout his 70’s. He retired from AT&T in 1997, after 33 years of service.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Friday, October 7th , 9:30 – 11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Ernie’s memory may be made to Samaritan Hospice, 3906 Church Rd., Mt. Laurel, NJ 08054-1108.
