Michael & family, My deepest sympathies on your Dad's passing. I was introduced to Ed 7 yrs ago through a mutual friend when Ed was looking for someone to help with household upkeep. Within a few short months of being in the company of Michael with his wit & Ed with is friendly nature I realized I had gained two very special friends. I'll forever treasure the many conversations we had. Ed talking about his childhood in Atlantic City, his family, his meeting his true love, Madge & so many topics. He was my sounding board & confidant, always helping me put things in perspective. His wisdom will be sorely missed. Ed, you are now once again with your beautiful Madge & that makes my heart happy. Thank you for being you, a genuine friend. Always in my thoughts & prayers, Gale Sayers

To the family of Ed Shaw I had the pleasure of meeting Ed only 1 time. But that is all I needed for him to make such a positive impression on me. I met him through Gale, who helped Ed attending to his household needs. Gale always spoke so highly of Ed and really admired his wisdom, his love of family and his sense of humor. She enjoyed the rapport she had with both Ed and Michael. My husband Rich had also done some small repairs for Ed. Rich came home and went on and on about how great Ed and Michael were. Somewhat unusual for my husband!! I knew then -- he had to be a special man. I stopped over to meet him one day while Gale was there. I spent about an hour in conversation with him. What a great guy he was! Both Gale and Rich were so right in their assessment of this man. I know how hard it is to lose someone that you love. But know how his kindness and good nature touched so many people. Live with those memories and cherish them. I am so sorry for your loss. Patricia Schlagle
