On February 11, 2026, of Westville. Age 69. Beloved husband of Joyce J. (nee Edwards). Devoted father of Edward P. Monroe, IV (Deana), and Lisa A. Monroe. Dear brother of Harry Monroe, Kevin Monroe (Clara), Charles Monroe (Toya), and Alice M. Sanderlin.

Ed was the most amazing human being you would ever want to meet. He was known for his two favorite sayings the first one being “I could always use a bottle of water”. The second one being “Excuse me, I got a little gas” followed by him fast walking away and laughing.

The family requests when you approach them if you could please say “I could always use a bottle of water” as a way of sharing your condolences.

A mask will be provided, they are not mandatory but would be preferred.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. There will be a time of sharing thoughts, memories, prayers and love offered by family and friends at 11:00 am.

Rest in Peace Uncle Eddie. You were such a big part of my childhood. The best pool parties and BBQs. I’ll always remember your robust laugh and the way you would do canon balls in the pool. A larger than life personality. You will always be missed. I love you!

I love you Uncle Ed! Aunt Joyce and Lisa I am so grateful for the memories that are endless with all us kids growing up. Thank you for giving us a safe place and showing us how to be loved. Bringing Alan home last summer is now even more of a precious memory because Uncle Ed and Aunt Joyce got to see that their love that they showed us kids growing up was something we thrived for. Joyce, Lisa and Eddie: I don't even know where to begin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this horrible time of loss. Ed was my brother, my cousin, my friend, my family. He had the biggest heart when it came to helping people and animals. He was always laughing and in search of a good time, even if he made it happen himself. Our Friday Night Gang will live on in Infamy. Never forget the night when the kids all went skating and we sat around your kitchen table (Friday night gang) and Ed wound up with a bottle cap stuck to his forehead from the kitchen table (after if course taking a nap on said bottlecap on said table). One of a million memories with Ed and the family. There is a huge void in the world now that Ed has moved on to a better place and is waiting for us. Joyce and Lisa, our phone calls are going to increase even more now. I love you all and share in your heartbreak, as the rest of whomever knew Ed, we will all surely feel this loss forever. I love you, we love you.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to my friend and her family in this very rough time. I had a chance to meet Mr. Monroe a few times at it was always a laugh to be had. You will be missed. 🙏🏾🕊️
