So sorry to hear of Ed's passing. He was a long-time friend of my husband, Gene Ret.

Our sincere sympathy to all of Ed's family. Sorry we were never able to visit Ed after he became ill. I always asked Mr. Gerber how Ed was doing. The Saturday before Ed died we tried find the hospital he was in, but not being familiar with the area we got lost and, unfortunately, never found it. Ed was a good customer of mine at the Deerfield Street Post Office and also became a friend of mine and my husband George. We remember how much he loved his cat "Fifi" and everything about Notre Dame. He was always a gentleman, kind person who prayed often and had great faith in God.
