Edith “Peach” Buono

On July 26, 2020, of Washington Twp.  Age 82.  Devoted wife of the late John Buono.  Loving mother of Jane Nicoletto, Dina Giannini (Rich) and the late Karen Carr-Barretto (Paul).  Proud grandmother of Kevin, Ryan (Megan), Anthony, Nina (Travis), Darren, Dominic (Jill), Ali, Joey, Joy (Eric), and Lewis. Proud great-mother of 4.  Edie will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Edie grew up with her family in South Philadelphia.  She studied at the University of the Old Neighborhood of South Philly and earned her Master’s in Culinary Arts.  In 1952, Edie met the spaghetti to her meatball, the basil to her tomato, the love of her life John Buono.  They were an instant match and quickly started a family of their own raising 3 beautiful daughters together in Washington Township, NJ.  A few of Edie’s favorite things included cooking up Sunday dinners, sneaking away to Atlantic City to play the slots, slinging funnel cakes on the weekends & most importantly spending time with her family and friends.  Edie had a huge heart, with room for everyone, and would be best described by her loved ones as loving, caring, and a bit feisty at times.  She was loved by all and will be missed by many.

Edie’s life will be honored and remembered privately by her family.
