Doris Philippi

Passed peacefully surrounded by her loving children, on September 19, 2026, at the age of 91.  Doris was the beloved wife of the late Thomas K. Philippi, Sr.  She was the devoted mother of Thomas Philippi, Jr. (Lori), Donald Philippi (Valerie) and Cindy Parise (Rocco).  Doris was a loving grandmother of Thomas (Nicole), Jena (Anthony), Erica (Kevin), Nicolas (Amanda), Shane (Alyssa), Jon, and Gina (Joe).  Proud great-grandmother of Thomas, Mark, Noelle, Cameron, Zoe, Lyla, Luke, Andrew, Ava, Cooper, and Benjamin.  Dear sister of Samuel Baker (Cass) and Joan Pratt. Doris was loved by her nieces and nephews.

A 1952 graduate of Woodbury High School, Doris was a proud member of the school’s twirling squad. Shortly after graduation, she met and married the love of her life, Tom. Together, they made their home in Washington Township, where they raised their family and shared a lifetime of love and cherished memories.

Doris was a lifelong member of New Sharon Methodist Church until its recent closing. For many years, she was also an active member of the Wedgewood Women’s Club and the Red Hat Society, where she enjoyed many wonderful friendships.

Doris and Tom shared a passion for creativity and craftsmanship. Together, they owned and operated a local craft business in Washington Township, specializing in handmade wooden and decorative craft items. Doris was especially known for her popular craft classes, where friends and neighbors gathered to create, share stories, laugh, and enjoy one another’s company. Her classes were as much about friendship and fellowship as they were about crafting.

Above all, Doris cherished her family. She took great pride and joy in watching her children and grandchildren participate in their many activities and treasured every opportunity to spend time with them.

Doris will be lovingly remembered for her creativity, her warm and welcoming spirit, her cherished friendships, and her unwavering love and devotion to her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of beautiful memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday 9:00-11:00 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp.  Doris’ funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM.  Interment Bethel Cemetery, Washington Twp.
