Godspeed Dominic Ruggieri. Grateful Great Grandfather. Inspirational Grandfather. Loving Father. Dedicated Husband. Man of constant smiles. Un-daunted by the impossible. You crossed hemispheres, decades and centuries. You gave constantly and asked for nothing, though we owe you everything. I love you and will miss you. But I'm me because of you.

I was fortunate enough to have Grandpop in my life for about 20 years - it sounds like a lot but seems like such a short amount of time. He was a pleasure to be around. He was forever telling us stories of his time at Boeing and how he worked on airplanes- I could have listened to his stories for hours- what a full life!! His laugh was infectious and his love of spaghetti never ending! He was a wonderful man and will be missed dearly.
Kyle Williamson left a message on September 30, 2017:
Dominick Ruggieri or Grandpop, as I called him, was always a great Grandfather to me. Never had an unkind word to say to me, loved me with all his heart, and hopefully was proud of me and the things that I am doing. We shared the love and joy of helping other people. Like he showed me to be when I was growing up. He also showed me the value of hard work and putting your mind to something and just doing it. I am very thankful for the time that I got to spend with him and know that he is with Grandmom and probably looking for something to fix in heaven.

Dominick Ruggieri was a remarkable man and such a character. He worked very hard his whole life - born in Italy, he came to the US at the age of 6 (or so we think), he had maybe a 7th grade education, he joined his father in Bryn Mawr and his step brothers in a landscaping business and then went on to work for Boeing - for many years and retired from there (he helped to put wings on jets) and then he wasn't happy to "retire", so he became a handyman - always working for others and charging very little to do so. He was kind, generous and cantankerous! He loved his family, He was a GOOD man - down to his soul and always willing to help others. He loved his wife, Anna, who proceeded him in death and we are sure he is now with her - a place where he wanted to be. He lived a good life and was such a character, he left us with many stories to tell! We had a lot of good laughs with him and at him. He loved to play poker too, it was one of his favorite past times! He has been failing for the last few years and it must have been difficult for him, as he was a proud man. Even in the last few months he continued to talk about buying a car, so he could drive (as if we would let him! LOL) At the age of 104 and 21 days short of his 105th birthday - he joined his Heavenly family and although we are very sad to lose him, we know he is in a better place.

Even as a 38 year old woman, he was still Grandpop to me. He was so much to so many people...a loving and dedicated husband to my Grandmom, Anna, a loyal & giving father to his two sons, Dan & Phil, handyman to the masses, a dedicated member of his church community, and committed to his work to make the lives of those around him better. I am a better person because of my grandpop and the legacy he started. I have many fond memories from childhood and adulthood, and when you live to almost 105, too many memories to mention. But when we celebrated his 100th birthday, Grandpop have a speech with a silly hat on that warmed my heart. He was so blessed to be surrounded by so much love and well, that he was tired! I would believe so! Grandpop, may you rest in eternity with the love out your life and our Heavenly Father. I'm sure He said, "Well done my good and faithful servant." You will be missed but your legacy will live on.
