Diana Romano (nee Genovese)
March 3, 1939 – October 20, 2025
Diana Romano, 86, of Blackwood, NJ passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. She was the beloved wife of Joseph A. Romano. A devoted mother, Diana is survived by her children Michael, Stephen (Wendy), and Gregory; cherished grandmother of Gabriella, Jenna (Jonathan), Stephen (Christine), Ashley (Shane), Stephanie (Chris), Adam (Stephanie), and Joseph; and proud great-grandmother of Jordana, Hailey, Landon, Owen, Lane, Ian, Aiden, Elijah, Charlie Mae, Sadie, and Easton. She was the dear sister of the late Angelo Genovese and Rose Cianfero and is survived by her loving siblings Jean Grottini and Joseph Genovese.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Diana met the love of her life, Joseph, in September of 1957. They were married on June 27,1959 and shared 66 joyful years together. Joe and Diana treasured dining out, dancing, and their 22 consecutive years of vacationing in Aruba.
Family meant everything to Diana. She cherished raising her three rambunctious sons and was deeply devoted to her seven grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. She also maintained a close relationship with her siblings, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Diana worked for 33 years as a special education teacher’s aide in the Gloucester Township Public School District and spent an additional ten years serving as an aide at St. Jude’s Parochial School.
Known for her generosity, strong work ethic, humility, and unwavering kindness, Diana will be remembered for her warm heart, love of shopping, impeccable style, and especially for her impractical shoes. She touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Monday 10:30 – 11:30 am at Our Lady of Hope – St. Agnes Church, 701 Little Gloucester Road, Blackwood. Mass of Christian Burial 11:30 am. Entombment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
In honor of Diana’s life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, her family would encourage donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
