Darlene Yvonne Eskridge, 59, was born on January 27th, 1961 in Baltimore, Maryland. She transitioned into her next life on Wednesday, July, 8th, 2020 peacefully in her sleep at her home in Turnersville, New Jersey.
Darlene grew up in West Baltimore. She is the fifth born of seven children. She enjoyed getting dressed up and adorning herself with jewelry and accessories. Darlene loved to go roller-skating in her youth with her siblings and close friends. She had a passion for music, preparing food, hosting guests at gatherings and serving others. In her spare time, she loved listening to her favorite songs and reminiscing on good memories shared with loved ones. Darlene was often the life of the party and was beloved by many for her charming smile and sharp sense of humor. She was unwavering in her devotion to care for others, often putting their needs before her own. Darlene was a loving wife, beloved mother, cherished daughter, adored sister, affectionate aunt and loyal friend to many.
In 1979, she completed her education at Carver Vocational Technical High School, graduating with her diploma and a certification in food service. Following her schooling, she worked for the Baltimore VA Medical Center as a food service technician. Darlene went on to work as a coder for Fairfax Bank in downtown Baltimore, which initiated a lengthy and esteemed career in banking and personal finance.
She met and married, Keith Eskridge Sr., the love of her life and relocated to New Jersey where they raised their son Keith Eskridge Jr. They were blissfully married for 28 years.
Darlene is survived by her beloved husband Keith Eskridge Sr. Devoted mother of Keith Eskridge Jr., and late K. Robert Eskridge and Darchelle Arlene Eskridge. Dear sister of Venoid Robertson, Darryl Robertson, Emanuel Robertson, Kenneth Robertson, Carolyn Brown and the late James Robertson. Daughter of the late Mildred and Willie Robertson and loving daughter-in-law of Mrs. Amanda Eskridge. She is also survived by a host of in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

I was very sadden to hear of Darlene's passing & there are no perfect words to console her family. However, if you would allow me to share these few thoughts, I would be most gracious . The time, I worked with Darlene at Fulton Bank - ASC, it was a good time in our lives. Her smile would light up a room & her laughter was just like a sweet melody. Til this day, I've not quite heard anyone laugh like that. She truly was a warm soul to be around. She will be missed & fondly remembered . I met Darlene many years ago... about 31 and she was the most loving, caring, funny and wonderful person that I have ever met. We stayed in contact through the years but had not spoken for a while. I was blessed to be back in contact with her on July 2nd and we talked for a while. She was her same bubbly self and had so much to share. Talking to her was like no time had passed. She was excited that she would be able to get a new kitchen because it was a long time coming. God blessed us to have that last conversation and I am so thankful for it. Rest in Paradise my friend!!!

Strong, Caring, Generous, Funny, Hospitable, Loving, Giving…those are just a few words I would use to describe Darlene. She was a faithful wife, good mother, adoring sister, a wonderful aunt and a friend. I can’t wrap my mind around the fact that I won’t see you on this side anymore. The world and our family will not be the same without you here. Most of my best memories started when you came through the door with your seafood salad for a special family occasion; that’s when we knew the party started. We knew the party was over when you finally let Emanuel open the pineapple upside down cake and he would always try to hide it from the rest of us.
