On March 12, 2024, of West Berlin, NJ. The world lost Corrado Pierro. Beloved husband of Camille (nee Farese). Devoted father of Michael Pierro (Joanie) and Denise Lescas (Michael). Loving grandfather of Audra. Dear brother of Lou Pierro, Joe Pierro, and Antoinette DeRobertis. Dear brother-in-law of Joseph and Tina. Loved by nieces and nephews.
Corrado, his name meaning wise, brave and courageous, left our lives this week after 90 years. He was born in Bari, Italy, and came to America at the age of 5, where he lived with his family in Hoboken, then Fort Lee, NJ. Being the wise brave man that he was, at a very young age he became an entrepreneur by building and selling bicycles, then embarked on his professional career in the garment industry, working hard to create his own business. He served in the army in Korea as a specialist. He admired his fellow veterans and was very proud to be a part of them.
Corrado was a passionate, loving husband to his grade-school sweetheart, Camille. He treasured and protected Camille, they were inseparable in mind, body and soul until his very last day. He would always sneak his kisses in whenever he could and loved to catch her off guard. He was a devoted father to Michael and Denise, and grandfather to Audra. Corrado was involved in every aspect of his families lives. He never missed an important event.
Michael, his son-in-law, and Corrado had a very special connection. Whenever they were together, they were like children, with Corrado always trying to get in the last love pat.
He enjoyed life to the fullest, whether he was traveling the world, fishing with his son, boating with his daughter and husband or going out to dinner with his family and friends, he did it in style; always wearing one of his signature hats.
Gardening was one of his favorite past-times. Sharing his world-famous figs and tomatoes from his garden brought him great joy. Upon moving to Montebello, he became mayor of the development. Not a person would pass that he didn’t wave to and yell “ Hey, hello!”
Corrado was a funny, gregarious man, with a huge heart and generous soul. He would do anything for his family or friends. He grabbed life by the horns and succeeded in everything he did, and he jovially broke stones too!
We will miss his jokes, his laughter, and especially his hugs. This great man will live forever in our hearts.
Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Washington Twp. Entombment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Chews Landing.
