Concetto “Joe” Luccarella
On June 28, 2024, of Elk Township, NJ. Age 80. Beloved husband of Roseann Luccarella (nee Izzo). Stepfather of Susan Bonapace (Joseph), and the late Christopher Houser. Brother-in-law of the late
Marie Lawson (Gary), and the late John Izzo (Jane). Grandfather of Aiden Bonapace. Uncle of Craig Izzo (Stacey), Michelle Johnson (Michael), William Madkiff (Lynn) and many other nieces and nephews. Brother of Pauline Madkiff, the late Phyllis Harrell, Marie Galiazzi (Richard) and Francis Luccarella. Son of the late Philip and Catherine Luccarella
(nee Gritz).
Joe was born and raised in Elk Township where he attended Aura School and helped his family on the Luccarella farm, known for their asparagus. He graduated from Delsea Regional High School in 1962 and soon after he began his career at Gerresheimer Glass (formerly Wheaton Glass Company) in Millville, NJ, where he worked as a Master Mechanic until his retirement in 2015.
Joe was a classic car enthusiast, especially cars from the 1950s and 60s, and he frequented car shows and exhibitions in South Jersey with his wife, Roseann. If one visited Joe, you would find him tinkering with a car, enjoying the challenge of puzzles, crossword puzzles and suduko. Joe also enjoyed traveling the United States with his wife Roseann, and loved to visit New England, especially Maine and New Hampshire.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Friday 10:00-11:00 AM at Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. At 11:00 AM there will be a time of sharing thoughts, memories, prayers, and love offered by family and friends.
In honor of Joe’s life, in lieu of flowers or other acts of sympathy, we would encourage any donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Food Bank of South Jersey.
