Christie A. Barbara
(nee Philips) On March 24, 2016 of Washington Twp. Age 45. Devoted mother of Brooklyn and Tori. Beloved daughter of William and Judy (nee Gohoski) Philips. Dear sister of Judy Philips (Dave), Laura Cresthull (the late Philip) and William Philips (Jeanine).
Christie lived near Pittsburgh until she was 10. In 1980, she came to Washington Township where she lived for the last 35 years. A graduate of Washington Township High School, she earned a BS in Elementary Education from Rowan University in 1992.
During her teaching career, she taught 3rd and 5th grades at Caroline Reutter and 2nd grade at Mary F. Janvier. She joined the R. Palmieri Electric staff in 2012, where she helped establish the solar division of the company.
Her first love was supporting and encouraging Brooklyn and Tori’s academic, sports and church activities. She also loved spending time at the beach, walking her dogs, most recently- Nikki, and spending time with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday 9:00-11:00 AM at St. Charles Borromeo RC Church 176 Stagecoach Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp. In lieu of flowers, donations in Christie’s memory may be made to Christie Barbara Daughters Fund (for their education) c/o TD Bank 5200 Route 42, Suite 14, Turnersville, NJ 08012.
