Safe travels to you, Chuck—enjoy the universe, wherever you are. Chuck and I played together in a band called Delco Nightingale. He was a great drummer, and one of the kindest, most open-hearted people I’ve had the good fortune to have known and shared a stage with. On behalf of DN, we’ll miss you and treasure your memory. It was a privilege to play with ya, dude. Keep rockin, keep swingin’…

Chuckie and I were friends for over 65 years. We met at St. Matthews Lutheran Church when we were both about 6 years old. We grew up in the small town of Marion, NC. There is no friend like a lifelong friend. Chuck was mine. I am having a hard time accepting that he isn’t just a phone call away. His was a bright shiny spirit that always lifted mine whenever we would see each other or talk on the phone. We spent time apart because that’s the way life is but it was always like we had never been apart when we saw each other again. He was my brother from another mother as he used to say. Roseanne I know he loved you very much and told me how lucky he was that you were his wife. I will continue to think of him often as I have done for all these years. He was my best friend.

I played in a band with chuck from 1973-1976. We were both music majors at Western Carolina University. Chuck was a fine versatile creative musician. We remained Brothers throughout his life. Thanks Roseann for loving him.
