(née McNamee), of Pittsgrove, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at the age of 75.
Catherine was the devoted mother of Brian J. Stanton (Aimee) and Thomas M. Stanton (Robin). She was the loving grandmother of Stephanie, Maria, Brian II, Hannah, Mackenzie, and Brielle, and the proud great-grandmother of Ryleigh, Carter, Everleigh, Frances, Colby, LileeRose, and Presleigh. Born to the late James and Dorothy (née Murphy) McNamee, Catherine was the dear sister of Dottie Pennington, James McNamee, Jr., Susan McNamee, Patricia Miller, Michael McNamee, Helen McLaughlin, and Joseph McNamee. She also shared a lifelong sisterly bond with Bean and was the beloved niece of Helen Sedgley.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, and bestie, and a cherished member of her family. She treasured the time she spent with those she loved. Family was at the heart of her life, and she worked hard throughout the years to provide for and support them. She was a strong, hardworking woman who always put her loved ones first. Her greatest joy was seeing her family together and knowing that the people she loved were cared for.
Even during her long stay in the ICU, her sweet and positive spirit continued to shine. Those who entered her room were often greeted with a smile and her warm, positive attitude. Despite all she was going through, she had a way of making those around her feel welcomed and cared for. Her strength and positivity were a beautiful reflection of the woman she was.
In her spare time, she enjoyed relaxing, taking a good nap, and catching up on her favorite shows, keeping her DVR storage perpetually hovering around 100% full. There was always another show waiting to be watched!
She will be remembered for her strength, her love, her positivity, her dedication to her family, and all the memories she created with her loved ones.
