Carmela “Millie” Volpe

On March 28, 2018 of Washington Twp. Age 99. Beloved wife of the late William. Devoted mother of Rachel Cartafalsa (Joseph) and Deanna Dougherty (Jack). Loving grandmother of John (Lynn) and Joseph (Kim). Proud great-grandmother of Devon, Dana, Drew, Olivia and Eric. Dear sister of Anita Dougherty (Joseph) and the late Lois, Nicholas, Joe, Carmen, Alfred, Sabina and Olga. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Millie was born and raised in S. Philadelphia before moving to Overbrook Park Phila and then resided in Washington Twp for the remainder of her life. She met her husband William (Bill) of 64 years while working at Pincus Brothers where they worked and retired from. Millie was the 2nd oldest of 9 brothers and sisters and is survived by one living sibling. Millie raised two loving daughters along with two grandsons and 5 great Grandchildren. She was very close to all of her relatives and enjoyed spending time in their company. Summers for Millie and Bill were spent in Brigantine N.J. and winters were spent in Florida with her daughters and family. Millie’s life was truly fulfilled by surrounding herself with family and friend who she could enlighten with her wisdom and share stories about her childhood.

This Mother/Grandmother/Great-Grandmother will truly be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday 8:30-10:30 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment, Hillcrest Memorial Park, Washington Twp.
