Carl A. “Cobby” Conover, Jr.
On May 29, 2011, of Washington Twp. Age 79. Beloved husband of Catherine V. nee Brady. Devoted father of Carl A. Conover, III Eileen and Denise A. Centanzo Peter. Loving grandfather of Peter, Tim, Natalie and Chloe. Dear brother of John Conover, Geraldine McCarron and Janice Peterson. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Cobby was a member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Traders for 50 years. Cobby was a devoted Catholic and active member of St. Stephen’s R.C. Church in Pennsauken for many years as well as a member of St. Francis on LBI and SS Peter and Paul in Turnersville. He was also active for many years in the Pennsauken Youth Athletic Assn. He spent his summers on Long Beach Island, where he loved to fish and boat with his family and friends. Cobby was an enthusiastic fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies and Notre Dame football. Most of all, Cobby was a great storyteller who loved to spend time with his family and friends, who will sadly miss being entertained by his humorous tales.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday 8:30 – 10:30 am at the EGIZI FUNERAL HOME, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at SS Peter and Paul RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment Locustwood Memorial Park, Cherry Hill.
