On December 30, 2020 of Washington Twp., NJ and The Villages, Florida.  Age 73.  Beloved husband of Lynne M. (nee Galamb).  Devoted father of Edana Battaglia (Stephen) and Daniel Polsky (Nicole).  Loving grandfather of Emily, Brexston, Ethan, Rockston, Azlynne, and Aceson. Dear brother of Edward Polsky (Cheryl) and Allen Polsky (Barbara).  He is survived by his mother-in-law Marge Galamb as well as many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Bruce grew up in South Philadelphia with his loving parents and 2 brothers, Eddie and Allen, who were his first 2 best friends. They remained extremely close throughout his life. As he grew his love for sports did too. He would play stick ball and other games with the neighborhood kids. Bruce made many friends in his younger years that he still kept in touch with today. They would meet up for an annual get together in their old neighborhood.

After Bruce finished high school he went on to serve in the United States Army for 2 years during the Vietnam War. After serving, Bruce then began college at Glassboro State College which is now Rowan University. He graduated with a degree in physical education.

During his college years he liked to party and go to dance clubs. One night at one of these clubs he spotted a beautiful blonde named Lynne. They became a groovy couple and tied the knot in 1977. Bruce loved Lynne with all his heart and they were inseparable. They celebrated their 43rd anniversary this past April.

After college Bruce landed a job at the Cumberland County Vocational Technical Center (CCVTC) in Bridgeton, NJ. He taught phys. ed to special needs students for over 25 years and was affectionately nicknamed “Coach”. His co-workers became his lifelong friends. He participated in the Special Olympics with his students and taught a basketball clinic over the summers.

A couple years after being married Bruce and Lynne welcomed their first child, Edana. A few years after that they welcomed their son, Daniel.

Saying that Bruce was a awesome father is an understatement. He never missed any sports games that his children participated in. He was always there to cheer them on. He was a father to be counted on for a laugh or support no matter what. From learning how to ride a bike, to catching with two hands, to getting out of jams as young adults. He was there through it all.

Bruce and Lynne retired and moved down to sunny Florida. He just loved it there. He quickly became a Pickleball legend. He made more friends and mastered driving a golf cart around town. They came to visit their children and grandchildren over the summers and throughout the year. Many more memories were made during these times.

If you were around Bruce you were laughing or talking about sports. His son, Dan, would call Bruce daily to discuss the Eagles, Sixers, Flyers or Phillies depending on the season. They were the best of friends. Bruce loved history; especially about Presidents. He could clear out an entire Jeopardy column about that topic. He was easy going and easy to talk to. He loved to listen to music and dance. When he wasn’t spending time with family and friends he spent most of his free time playing Pickleball, watching sports, horse races and Westerns. He enjoyed going to casinos and sitting on the beach.

Bruce passed away after an intense few months of battling cancer. At the end he wasn’t able to eat, sleep or move freely. He was in pain and wanted to say goodbye. We are so thankful for the time we had with him but are heartbroken we don’t have more.
