Bruce Charles Fenton, age 82, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2026. He was a devoted Christian husband, father, grandfather, ruling elder, and trusted friend to many.

Early Life and Education

Bruce was born in Bellmawr, New Jersey, on July 19, 1944, to the late William Robert Fenton and Marie Eberhard Fenton. Growing up, he was a talented and passionate athlete who excelled in both football and baseball. After graduating from Triton Regional High School, he pursued higher education at Tennessee Tech University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Career and Passions

Bruce began his career working for the Department of the Navy before joining the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), where he served faithfully for 23 years.

Known for his engineering mindset, kind demeanor, and welcoming sense of humor, Bruce filled his life with diverse passions. He was an avid boater who loved navigating the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland and Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire. He was an enthusiast of sports cars, and a dedicated fan of his favorite Philadelphia and Ohio State sports teams. Above all, he cherished spending quality time with his family.

Faith and Ministry

A pillar of his church community, Bruce’s life was defined by his deep Christian faith. He served the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) for four decades with unwavering dedication. Throughout his 40 years of service, he impacted countless lives as a youth leader, Sunday school teacher, Home Missions Administrator, and ruling elder. He found great joy in sharing the Gospel, serving on church sessions, and mentoring others in their faith.

Family and Legacy

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, William and Marie Fenton.

He leaves behind a rich legacy of love and faith. He is survived by:

His loving wife, Sandy
His daughter, Beth DePrine and her husband Claude
His son, Charlie Fenton and his wife Valerie
His five cherished grandchildren: Daniel DePrine, Grace DePrine, Krue Fenton, Clark Fenton, and Felicity Fenton

Services

A memorial service celebrating Bruce’s life and faith will be held at New Hope Presbyterian Church, 65 Hitchner Ave., Bridgeton, New Jersey 08302 at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 5.

Sandy, Beth, and Charlie...I am SO sorry for the loss of the presence and fellowship of your husband, father, and grandfather. Yet...to know that we KNOW that we will see him again brings a sense of comfort and peace. Both you, Sandy, and your wonderful husband were always so very supportive of my teaching ministry when I had the privilege of teaching Beth and Charlie. Beth, Charlie...I always appreciated how very kind and respectful you both were. It was a joy to be your teacher. You both were clearly the product of your parents' guidance and love. What a wonderful, faithful, and successful life Bruce lived. What a wonderful example of commitment, love, and faith in God to leave behind. He will be sadly and dearly missed.
