Bonnie Kelty Bodnar, 84, entered into God’s care on March 30, 2026. Born in Trenton, she attended Trenton Central High School (Go, Red & Black!) and was school Cheerleader for all varsity sports, a member of Kappa Delta Phi Sorority, and the Captain of the Black Team week-long Sports Night Extravaganza. Her peers voted her “Most Popular” and “Miss Personality.”
After graduation in 1959, she worked as Secretary to the Director of the New Jersey State Cultural Center for many years before leaving to start her family. In 1977 her husband’s new position with the FBI in Philadelphia brought her to Washington Township, where she began a career in real estate for Fox & Lazo, Inc.. Over the next decade and a half she rose through the company, winning awards such as Million-Dollar Club, Top Listing Associate, President’s Award for Excellent Service, and Most Positive Personality. In 1990 Bonnie was made Manager of the Moorestown office and led that 55-agent team to become the Top Profit Office in the Delaware Valley. The company awarded her the distinction of Manager of the Year, and she taught classes to all new students, who honored her five straight years with the award of Top Teacher. Ultimately, she was promoted to Vice President of Fox & Lazo until her retirement in 1995.
Bonnie loved to travel with her husband. Her most cherished trips were their pilgrimages to Medjugorje, Fatima, Guadalupe, and sites all over Italy — Rome, Eucharistic Miracle at Lanciano, Holy House of Loreto, Padre Pio’s San Giovanni Rotondo, Assisi — as well as Israel to follow the footsteps of our Lord.
Those closest to Bonnie will always remember her optimistic spirit (“Think positive!”), her common sense in solving problems, her proactive work ethic, her religious devotion, and above all her love for her family, their glue and their rock.
Bonnie was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas Kelty and Beatrice Cartlidge Kelty, and sister of the late Marjorie Kelty Toth (late Ernie). She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Albert Bodnar, Jr.; her children, Kris and Scott (Nicole); her grandchildren, Alexa and Brett; her identical twin sister, Betsy Kennedy Castranova and husband Sam; her niece, Marjorie Toth Harris-Anerton; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and sister, she was predeceased by her nephew Ric Toth.
Private burial services for the immediate family will be held at Holy Family Church in Washington Township and All Saints Cemetery in Newfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, Bonnie humbly requested that Roman Catholic Masses be offered in her memory. To notify the family, please contact albodnar@comcast.net.
