William K. Colbert “Billy”

On September 1, 2017 of Blackwood. Age 43. Beloved father of Caleb. Loving son of William D. and Sandra E. (nee Liberatore) Colbert. Dear brother of Christine Colbert, Michael Colbert (Holly), Brian Colbert (Michelle) and Carla Brown (Damon). Also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many loving nieces and nephews.

Billy was a fun loving spirit with a sense of humor that brought many smiles to the hearts and faces of all who knew him. He had a passion for baseball and volunteered his time as a coach at Blackwood Kiwanis Little League. His greatest love was his son Caleb who was his heart and soul. Billy found great joy having a catch with his son or simply spending quality time together. Billy will be deeply missed. Our hearts ache at his loss, but find peace in knowing he rests in the arms of Jesus.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, 9:00-11:00 AM at the Solid Rock Baptist Church, 420 White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009. Funeral service 11:15 AM. Interment, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Billy’s memory may be made to the Solid Rock Baptist Church, c/o Reformers Unanimous (RU) Addiction Program at the above address.

Yo Billy, We were at your grave the other day. Me, Chad, Chris and Bobby. We poured some beer out for you. Hope you got to taste it. We went to Golden Nugget for some wings afterward and it was like you were playing the jukebox. When have you ever walked into the nugget and they are playing FREESTYLE music?? It was so weird. Miss ya brother.

Billy.....september 1 will be a year that you have been gone i miss you so much not a day goes by i dont think about you.....i want you to know our son is so strong and he is doing amazing.....he too thinks about his daddy all the time and im doing everything in my power to make sure he is ok....i have had some signs and i know they are from you and i know your watching over us.....we love and miss you so much and i make sure me and Caleb talk about you every night and pray before bedtime. Billy, Just another day that goes by that I cry because I miss you so much and I love you and can't accept your gone. Caleb misses you too sooo much.......he is starting baseball in April and I told him it will be tough at first without you there coaching him but he still wants to play. I told him you will be watching every one of his games and that he will be showing himself off of how great of a baseball player he is because of you.....my heart will never mend....you are on my mind all day everyday as is Caleb..... I remember a breakfast at the Colbert house when Mrs. Colbert told Billy his eyes were bigger than his belly and Billy took the outline of his eyes and put them on his belly and said I don't think so. He always made us laugh I will miss you rip brother Love you Colberts fFrankie Robell

I could share many funny memories of Billy me and him where the youngest in our class I will miss him tremendously we all here up in same town same class lots of fun times together you will forever be missed and be in our hearts was a great friend a shoulder to cry on and had a HUGE heart love you Billy u will be missed

I remember one time I with billy at a Rowan party and if you were Spanish beer was free and all of a sudden he was Spanish and he could not keep a straight face when the real Spanish people kept asking him where his family was from and I forget the fake last name he gave but was great gonna miss u brother. Had the pleasure of meeting Billy when he and my daughter were my guests on New Year night. I liked him instantly , total gentleman with a comic side. Truly shocked and saddened.

I'll never forget when I was recruiting players for my baseball team and Brian said, "you want my brother, Billy. He's great." He gave me your number and we met at Camden County College and worked out for a while. We clicked immediately and you made us all better players with your knowledge and leadership. Most importantly I gained a good friend that day and as sad as I am that you're not with us anymore, I'm grateful to have known you. You and I have always had so much in common and I'm going to miss you terribly. Rest easy, buddy. I love you, Bill.

I met Billy the first day I met Jason. They seemed inseparable at the time and always in trouble together :) Billy always had a kind heart with beautiful eyes and smile. I'm sorry he struggled but hope he has found peace. The Colbert family is in our prayers. Love, Bernadette Giambuzzi

Billy and I played baseball together at CCC. Spent some time together hanging out at Taylors/Iguanas night club. Never a dull moment, tons of laughs and a couple of funny memories only me,him and some of his boys can hold on to. His smile was infectious and I'm a better man for knowing him. RIP Colb.
