Betty was born in Waycross, Georgia to Joseph and Thelma Petras. Her parents and six children eventually moved to Florida where she graduated top of her class from Seminole High School in 1943. She went to work at Bell Telephone until she met and married her lifelong love Charles Shaw in 1944. They moved to New Jersey where Betty worked and retired from J C Penneys. She was a devoted wife and mother, who loved reading. Her friends and family will remember her as a woman of faith who was kind, always in a pleasant mood and her positivity was unending. She will be sorely missed and ever in our mind and hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Thursday 9:30-11:00 AM at St. John’s United Methodist Church (in the Family Life Center), 149 Ganttown Rd., Turnersville, NJ 08012. Funeral service 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
