Anthony P. “Tony” Ashton
On December 3, 2020 of Washington Twp. Age 69. Beloved husband of the late Jeanette (nee Haines). Devoted father of Anthony P. Ashton, II., Jeannette Leone (Michael), and Melissa Zubert (James). Loving grandfather of Angelina, Olivia, and Michael. Dear brother of the late John Birney (Ruth), the late Katherine Brown (Richard), and the late Joseph Ashton (Alice). Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Born and raised in Gloucester City, Anthony has been a resident of Washington Township for the past 44 years where he raised his loving family. Anthony was a proud member of the Teamsters Local 107 Union for 33 years before he retired from Unisource in 2016 to care for his wife. His truck driving career started at the young age of 16 where he helped his father load trucks. He was a devoted and loving husband of 50 years. There was nothing more important to him than spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, family & friends. Anthony enjoyed fun times with his family and friends before his health declined. He had a passion for riding his Harley Davidson with his son and friends. He enjoyed many Irish weekend trips & Biker weekends in Wildwood. He now lays peacefully, no pain, and reunited with his beloved wife.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Saturday, January 9, 2021, 12–2 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral service 2 PM.
