Anna M. Taraska (nee Villano), on June 29, 2017, of Audubon Park. Age 61. Beloved wife of Bruce. Devoted mother of Carolina Colon (Victor), Victoria Robbins and Andrea Huang (James). Loving grandmother of Carolina, Victor, Layla, Riley and Annalee. Cherished daughter of Maria (nee Solimeno) and the late Frank Villano. Dear sister of George Villano, Anthony Villano, Christina Ramos, Grace Carbone and the late Rocky Villano. Sister-in-law of Cindy Sunday.
Anna was born in Philadelphia to an immigrant Italian mother and Philadelphia born Italian father. She is the second child of 6. Her brother Rocky Villano passed away 15 years ago. She and the family took his death very hard. Her father passed away a couple of years ago as well. My mom moved from Philadelphia when she was 36 and stayed in New Jersey for the rest of her life. She was married 4 times but met and married the love of her life Bruce Taraska 12 years ago. She has three daughters Carolina, Victoria, and Andrea. She primarily raised them as a single mother. She is a loving grandmother to 5 grandchildren: Carolina, Victor, Layla, Riley, and her namesake Annalee. She was also a dog mother to her shihtzu’s Rocky and Hope whom she loved dearly.
My mom loved exercising via cycling, aerobics, aquasize and taking walks. She loved going to her happy place in Gouldsboro Poconos where her trailer home is at Eagle Lake. She loved taking her dogs for walks and wherever she would go. My mom also loved going out to eat to her favorite restaurants. Her main love I would say was bargain shopping, she loved coupons and deals and could shop til she dropped. My mom had a knack for taking pictures and always if we were out even doing the mundane things she would love to take pictures for our memories. My mom also would research her favorite shows to understand them more, some of her favorite shows were: True Blood, Walking Dead, Big Bang Theory, Lost, Sons of Anarchy and many more. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren and going out with them to do special things. We would all go to the Disney on ice show for the last three years as a tradition.
My mom had a great sense of humor, she was silly, was not shy, spoke what was on her mind, and liked to have fun.
My mother found Jesus in her early adulthood and was a devout Christian. She loved to worship and go on Christian retreats. This was a big part of her life as she is a strong believer in God. Her highlight of her life was going on an Israel trip with her church and husband.
My mother should be known and remembered as being a strong and independent woman. She is a fighter and has fought for the last 8 years of her life. She was a miracle when she came out of Krozer hospital with only a 10% chance of living from Steven Johnsons Syndrome. She is a kind, generous, loving, and dependable woman. She always looked on the bright side of things, which was a great thing since she tackled with depression for most of her adult life.
She worked and recently retired from the federal government after working with them for 38 years, she started as a secretary and moved up to a GS-13. She was a very hard worker and most of her life would hold down multiple jobs to support her family.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday 6:00 -8:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 8:00 PM. Interment private.
