I was heartbroken to hear of her passing. She was my librarian from Roosevelt School all the way through high school, and like so many others, I was fortunate enough to know her kindness, wit, and incredible spirit. Even after I graduated, she stayed in touch—a testament to the genuine care she had for her students long after they left her library. She may have been a librarian by profession, but she was truly a teacher of imagination, creativity, and the arts at heart. I always admired her quick wit, her remarkable talent for sewing, and the joy she poured into everything she created. Her library was more than a room full of books—it was a place of wonder. I still smile when I think about the elaborate decorations she made each year. In fact, I never developed a fear of spiders because of the fun and whimsical way she transformed the library every Halloween. She was one of those rare people who made every student feel welcome. Generations of us had the privilege of knowing not just an exceptional librarian, but someone who inspired a lifelong love of reading, creativity, and learning. I know that every time I open one of my favorite books, I’ll think of her and the magic she brought to those shelves. Her legacy lives on in every child she encouraged to read, imagine, and create. My heartfelt condolences to your entire family. She was deeply loved and will be remembered with great fondness by so many of us.

Rest in Peace Ms. Wright! Always a pleasure to chat in the hallways the best substitute around. Hawthorne was lucky to have her for so long.

mrs. wright was the best. despite having spider decorations all over her library at roosevelt, she wasn't as scary as her interior design seemed! she always made sure i felt better when i would cry in the morning when i was in kindergarten. such a sweet woman. rest in peace!!
