Alfrieda A. DeShields nee Howell on July 18, 2012, of Washington Township. Age 58. Beloved wife of James. Devoted mother of James and Jennifer. Dear sister of Pamela Wells & Evelina Johnson.

Alfrieda graduated from Chicago Vocational High School in 1972 and attended the Evanston School of Nursing until 1976. She worked for Grenbriar Nursing Home. Prior to that she worked for Kennedy Hospital, several out call nursing agencies and several Chcago area emergency rooms. She was a member of Stagecoach Road Christian Fellowship where she served as Deaconesse and served on the Missionary Board. Devoted lover of movies, especially science fiction and “Star Trek.” She was a devoted “Trekkie.” She adored fashion, make up and loved making other people look and feel beautiful. She had a beautiful disposition and loved making other people smile.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Memorial Service Friday7:00 pm at the Stagecoach Road Christian Fellowship Church, 139 Stagecoach Road, Sicklerville, NJ 08081. Interment private.

Dear Jimmy, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Alfrieda. I never met her but I came to know her through you. You were both blessed to have each other. Hold on to your wonderful memories and remember God is only a tear and a prayer away. Times will get hard but God will never heap on you more than you can handle. Seek Him always, he will never let you down. He is still helping me with Ian's passing. Stay strong my dear friend and know there are many people that love you. Love and hugs Noreen

Freda and I shared our nursing careers together working in NJ, the first being WTH where we met and be-friended each other and last being at GBE. She always made time pass quickly with her hardy and contagious laughter. Always kept things light hearted. We shared are last times together at bible study, Michael Rd. I am Honored and Blessed that God connected us as young women in the mid 1980's up til now. She has RICHLY BLESSED my life. During the past few months she was a living testimony to me each time we spoke she never complained or spoke a negative word. She kept the FAITH. Never waivered. I know she has heard WELL DONE MY GOOD AND FAITHFUL SERVANT. Now we take comfort in knowing she has no more pain, and is apart of the cloud of witnesses cheering us on. Jim, Jim Jr. and Jennifer, Ray and I are praying for you, knowing that God is Faithful and will turn your mourning in to Joy. So cry but SMILE AND LAUGH ALOT, this was Freda and your inheritance.
