Aldona A. Iacono

Age 85 of Washington Township, passed away on October 1, 2023, after a brave bout with cancer.

Aldona was born January 1, 1938, to Ona (nee Kuraitis) and Antanas Matijosaitis in Turcinai, Lithuania. After Aldona graduated from South Philadelphia High School in January 1957, she went on to study at Levittown Business School.

In 1961, Aldona met Bart at his cousin Marie’s house. They went on to have three devoted daughters, Maria, Theresa, and Regina.

She spent the majority of her career at Graduate Hospital as an administrative assistant. In 2000, Aldona retired and spent her time at the shore with family and friends. She embraced her free time with her six amazing grandchildren.

Aldona is survived by her beloved husband Bart Iacono. She was the devoted mother of Maria Enos (the late Anthony), Theresa Buonocore (Vincent), and Regina Dostillio (Michael). Loving grandmother of Nicholas, Dante, Francesca, Bartholomew, Michael, and Matthew. Dear sister of Joseph Matijosaitis (Sarah), Zigmas Matijosaitis (Pauline), the late Ona Piland (John Schaffner), and the late Theresa Matijosaitis. She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and many treasured friends.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday 8:30 – 10:30 AM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, Washington Twp. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon.
