Albert F. Sulla
On March 30, 2024 of Washington Twp. Age 93. Beloved husband of Norina (nee Lerza). Devoted father of Albert A. Sulla (Cindy), Robert Sulla (Marci), and Leonard Sulla (Maria Lyn). Loving grandfather of Robert (Melina), David, Ashley (Paul), Christian, Gino (Vanessa), Albie, Lenny, and Michael. Proud great-grandfather of Robbie, Luca, Avianna, Nora, and Anatole. Dear brother of the late Betty, Mae, Rita, Angie, Vince, Carol, and Carmella. Loved by nieces and nephews.
“Big Al” as everyone knows him was an amazing husband, father, father-in-law, pop pop and, great grandfather. He was the happiest when he was with his family; each one brought him a tremendous amount of joy. He and his beautiful wife, Norina, were married for 71 years and life without him will not be easy.
He was a very hard worker and a young entrepreneur starting at the age of 10, when he sold flowers on Market Street in Philadelphia to the soldiers returning or on leave from war so they could give to their wife or lady friends. He never held just one job but…many at a time, trying to provide for his family. He was an owner of a produce business, a recruiting business, a restaurant and lastly, a check-cashing business, which his sons and grandsons carry on to this day. He had an extensive garden in his latter years and we would be remiss to say, no pun intended, that no grass grew under his feet.
We will forever miss his positive and sweet attitude and his never-ending stories of his childhood, where he would entertain his family with hours of his lively escapades. When asked how he felt, no matter how bad his health was, he would always answer “fantastic”.
He was the most loving and generous person who always thought of others and would come to the aid of anyone in need…any time. He will be so missed by so many and we thank him for the joy he gave to everyone he met. May you use your Latin, which you learned as an altar boy when you get to the gates of heaven.
God Bless You Big Al and may you be greeted in heaven with the love that you have always shown to others.
Family and friends are invited to attend his visitation Friday 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Funeral service 12:00 PM.
