Susan Donato
(nee Bronca) On September 6, 2019 of Washington Twp. Age 93. Beloved wife of the late Peter. Devoted mother of Charles Donato and his wife Mary and Angela Cast and her husband Nicholas. Loving grandmother of Toni, Annette (Brian), Angela, Alanna and Nicholas. Proud great-grandmother of Mia Rose, Ryan Jeffrey and Antonia Marie.
Sue and Pete raised their family Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania, then moved Mt. Laurel, New Jersey in 1984 to be closer to their two children and growing grandchildren, and Sue’s two sisters. To escape the cold winters, Sue and Pete would take the auto train to their condo retreat in West Palm, Florida until the spring.
Sue loved to spend her time surrounded by friends and family when she wasn’t in the kitchen baking dozen of her famous cookies for anyone she thought she should give her homemade cookies to; including her dentist, cardiologist, and other doctors. Sue also loved to sew, crochet, and could most likely be found on a shopping spree for her grandchildren. She would chat for hours on the phone with her sisters, Sadie, Grace, and her lifelong best friend Yolanda.
She loved seeing her grandchildren grow and enjoyed cooking a big breakfast on the weekends for them. As her grandchildren grew, she was blessed with great grandchildren, who brought the greatest joy to her life. She always needed to have the most recent photos of them and looked forward to spending time with them.
At Sue’s recent residence at Jefferson Health Care Center Washing Twp., she made her presence known. Not only did the staff love her there, but she made many new friends that she was always looking after and enjoying time with in the activity room.
Sue will be forever be missed by her family and friends, who she always had the greatest desire to help in anyway she could. She has left a hole in the lives of many people, but that hole will be filled by so many warm and loving memories.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Thursday 9:00-10:30 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 am at SS Peter & Paul RC Church, Washington Twp. Interment, SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Susan’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Research Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
