Richard R. Mroz “Big Red”.

On February 4, 2026, of Mt. Ephraim. Age 78. Beloved husband of Kathleen (nee Smith). Devoted father of Kristy Kazelskis (Robert), and Jennifer Bottino (Patrick, Jr.). Loving grandfather of Zachary, and Gabriella. Dear brother-in-law of Sandy Rowan (Mike).

Rich grew up in Woodlynne, New Jersey, and attended St. Joe’s High School. After graduating, he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served for two years. Upon returning home, he married his kindergarten sweetheart, Kathy, whom he lovingly referred to as “The Queen.”

Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two daughters, Kristy and Jennifer. Rich was a devoted and hands-on father who found his greatest joy in coaching his girls in basketball and cheering them on at every high school game.

As his family grew, Rich warmly welcomed his sons-in-law, Bobby and Pat, loving them as if they were his own sons. His heart grew even fuller with the arrival of his grandchildren, Zachary and Gabby—the true lights of his life. They brought him immense joy, endless pride, and a love that knew no bounds.

Rich will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his deep sense of loyalty, and the pride he took in being a husband, father, and grandfather. His legacy lives on through the family he cherished so deeply and the countless memories they will forever hold in their hearts. Though he will be profoundly missed, Rich’s love, laughter, and devotion will continue to guide and comfort those who were blessed to know him.

Family and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday, 6:30-9:00 pm and Friday 8:30-9:30 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Rd Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Williamstown. Entombment All Saints Cemetery, Newfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard’s memory may be made to Family Promise of Southern New Jersey.

Rich was the best, every time he visited me at my office he kissed on the top of the head, it helped he was a foot taller! He always wanted to know how my family and I were doing. He was interested in every one's story and always made every conversation about you. What a genuine guy. He will be missed... Love ya Rich!

Cousin Richie...So many great memories when we were young. Thanksgiving dinners at your Mom & Dad's. Reading your Treasure Chest comic books at Babci's and the time "your guys" played "my guys" in a touch football game at Knights Park. I had to block you on kick offs. That didn't work out well. Anyway, our condolences to Kathie and the family. May God give you His special peace at this time.

Rich was an amazing person. His smile filled the room. His laughter lingered in your ears long after the conversation. People felt good just being around him. I will always remember the our "Wednesday Pretzel" days. I looked forward to his visits. He was a great inspiration. He will be missed.

I know that we cannot replace Rich, He had a way about him that you knew he was there in the building for a reason. I had the pleasure of knowing him for a lot of years through USA Wood Doors. I knew Richie at St. Joe’s high school. We worked together at a division of Control Data in Valley Forge Pa. We car pooled from Camden along with other Woodlyn people. He always had a big smile and was a super nice guy. He will be missed.

Very sad to hear this news, Mr. Mroz always brought a sincere sense of kindness and compassion whenever he visited our company. We always enjoyed seeing him walk through the door at Dennis Moran & Sons, sharing a warm embrace and ALWAYS inquiring about my father and the rest of our families. I'll never forget his smile and grace. There is a new giant angel in heaven watching over us for sure.

Rich, We became friends way back in 1979 at Spectron and kept the friendship through many years. Whenever we were able to get together you always helped make me a better person and I am a better person having known you. I will miss your laughs and war stories about work and the like. To Kathy and children I am very sorry for your tremendous loss. He was not only a big person in stature, but a bigger person in life.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Rich, a warm and vibrant personality whose vast business knowledge made a lasting impact. At AMI, he will always be remembered not just for his expertise, but for the genuine warmth he brought to every interaction. Rich was the kind of person you didn’t just shake hands with — you embraced with a heartfelt hug. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. May they find comfort in knowing he is now at peace.

Rich had HUGE charisma and owned any room he was in. He had the sharpest memory and always made you feel special. He was one of the good guys and will definitely be missed. God Bless you, Rich!
