Richard N. Schenauer, Jr., 67, passed away on May 7, 2014. Loving partner of Richard L. Boggs, III. Dear brother of Ronald and his wife Barb and Randy and his wife Anna. Proud uncle of Erin, Rett, Megan and Mark.
Richard Schenauer was born on October 31, 1946. Known to family and friends as Rick, he grew up in Depew, NY, a suburb of Buffalo, NY. He graduated from Lancaster High School before heading off to the Great Lakes Naval Training Center and a commitment to the United States Navy. He was very proud to have served his country. After his stint in the Navy and honorable discharge, he spent a number of years living in California before heading east and settling down in Miami, FL. While he lived in Miami he worked in sales and customer service for David and Dash. Rick was the consummate customer service representative in any job that he held. He provided the best to his clients and customers and demanded the same when the roles were reversed. Heaven forbid, if a sales person or company fell short of his expectations. Moving to New Jersey to be closer to family, one of the best things that happened to Rick in this move north was that he met Richard “Scooter” Boggs III. They say opposites attract and this was certainly the case between Rick and Scooter.
Rick had a knack for making people feel at ease and developed many long lasting friendships, especially with his neighbors. He was an incredible cook who could take the simplest menu and turn it an exquisite meal. He truly missed his calling, to be a chef and own a restaurant. Looking for a party planner, there was no one better than Rick. If you needed to decorate a room or your entire house, whether it be a simple fashion or with over the top styling, Rick could probably get you on the cover of Good Housekeeping.
Please note that the people we hold most dear, never truly leave us. They live on in all the things they shared with us and the memories they created during their time with us. Our memories are preservatives of the heart, which is where Rick will reside forever within each and every one of us.
Richard’s life will be celebrated Thursday 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home, 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Interment at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown will be private.
