Phyllis Ann DiVenti
(Palladino) On November 30, 2018, of Gibbstown. Age 76. Beloved wife of the late James. Devoted mother of Kimberly Biletz (David), Kristine Storm (Mark), and James DiVenti (Dana). Loving grandmother of Rhyse, John, Jared, and Georgia. Dear sister of Anthony Palladino (Linda) and Dominic Palladino (AnnaMarie).
Born and raised in South Philadelphia of Italian descent. She met her husband Jimmy, her soulmate, and they fell in love and got married. They had 3 kids and moved to the suburbs to live out their dreams. They cherished their time together which was tragically cut short. Jim was killed in an automobile accident at the age of 36, and Phyllis had to gather her strength to raise 3 young kids as single mom. Not only was Phyllis beautiful, funny, smart, and kind, she was also quite the jack of all trades. As young women she went to cosmetology school and worked as a hair stylist. After her husband passed, she took classes and began working as an office administrator. Phyllis was a great cook and something delicious was always baking, brewing, or getting jarred. She was artistic and enjoyed various classes throughout her life such as pastel drawing, jewelry making, and floral design. Phyllis took on a great challenge of starting up and operating her own flower shop. She shined as a business woman. After that, she worked most of her life as an office administrator and was great at her job. She was an avid reader and the library was one of her favorite places. It was rare to ever find Phyllis without a book in her possession. She volunteered at the library and also with The Friends of Hope Lodge and Mather Mill, where she served on their board, and planned dozens of successful fundraisers and events. She had a love of cats and always shared her home with a rescued cat who became part of her family. Phyllis loved her family more than anything. She was proud of her grandchildren and loved being their Mimi. Through out her life she had survived several more tragedies such as a devastating house fire and subsequent car accident. Because of her resilience, strength, and courage she was able to rebuild her life. Her faith was unyielding. She always said, “God may not have given me what I wanted, but he gives me what I need” and for that she was always grateful. Phyllis was loved dearly, and her kind soul and beautiful smile will be forever missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday 10:30 – 11:30 am at SS. Peter & Paul RC Church, 362 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:45 am. Interment Eglington Cemetery, Clarksboro.
