Philomena S. Oliva
(nee Abbonizio) On December 31, 2025, of Clarksboro. Age 89. Devoted mother of Diane Polinsky (Stephen). Loving grandmother of Rachel (Daniel) and Jason (Jillian). Proud great-grandmother of Daniel III, Grace, Theodore, and Cassie. Dear sister of the late Jean Dean. Loved by many extended family members.
The center of her world was her family. She especially loved being around her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nothing lit up her face like seeing the little ones walk in the door or getting pictures of them on her phone.
She loved to cook – Italian food was her favorite. She especially loved doing our annual fish dinner every Christmas and making a big roast pork dinner every New Years Day and sharing these meals with her family. She was an avid crocheter who spent countless hours crocheting for many charities with her friends from the church crochet group. She loved to play cards and games and enjoyed her Thursdays with the “Game Day Girls”. She loved listening to jazz music, you could always find her on the deck listening to her favorite jazz. She loved the beach and our many, many trips to Florida. She had a natural ability to float and would float in the ocean for hours.
She will always be remembered for her giving spirit and willingness to help anyone in need. She was a wonderful mom/grandmom/great grammy and will be missed dearly by all who have the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to attend her visitation Friday, January 9th 10:15 – 11:15 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Roman Catholic Church, 362 Ganttown Rd., Washington Twp. Mass of Christian Burial 11:15 AM.
