Nancy L. Wilson (nee Seeger), on March 27, 2019, of Washington Twp., formerly of Haddon Heights. Age 80. Beloved wife of the late Thomas. Devoted mother of Debbie Leporace (Tano), Lisa Wilson, Lori Fiore (Chris), and Jessica Middleton (Don). Loving Nanny to Michelle, Vincent, Mario, Melissa, Victoria, Christopher, Brooke, Jill, Luke, Kelsey, Sean and great-granddaughter, Gia. Dear daughter of the late William and Phyllis (nee Wylie) Seeger and sister to the late Ronald Seeger.
Nancy Wilson was a loving mother, proud grandmother/great-grandmother and very dear friend to many. She had a heart of gold and her compassion knew no boundaries. Nancy loved cooking for family and friends, especially all her hors d’oeuvres and was a real trooper when it came to picking crabs for hours so we could all enjoy her famous crab cakes and crab bisque. She loved cheeseburgers and cheese steaks, especially with a handful of chips!
Nancy loved being surrounded with her family and friends. You’d often find her enjoying the beautiful craftsmanship of her son-in-law, Don, on the outdoor entertainment area, enjoying a glass of spirits, listening to music and taking in their little piece of serenity out back. Christmas was “hers,” and her daughters’ spouses and grandchildren knew they were expected to be at Nanny’s 12/25 by 3:30/4!
When not outdoors, Nancy loved watching “her” Tiger Woods and the entire PGA circuit, as well as her murder mysteries: Law and Order SVU, NCIS with Mark Harmon, among others. She was a diehard Philadelphia sports fans, especially loved watching and rooting for her Eagles and Phillies. She enjoyed doing her daily crossword puzzles, Sudoku and cryptograms, as well as was known to always be in the middle of reading another great book!
Nancy graduated from Collingswood High School, Class of ‘56, where she belonged to the D.O.T.s club, played softball, sang in the choir, and met, as well as married, her high school sweetheart, Tommy Wilson, on June 8th, 1957, where her younger brother, Ronnie, was a part of her wedding party just before God took him to heaven at the young age of 18. She maintained close-knit friendships with her CHS pals. She and Tommy had a special friendship with Marian and Tony Rizzi, playing Pinocle together many weekends, vacationing together and their families thought of each other as just that, “Family.” Tommy was suddenly taken from her on November 2, 1987 after 30 years of marriage and she remained loyal and heart-bound to him for the entirety of her remaining years.
Nancy also loved summer days spent down Haddon Glen, participating as a timer at swim events for over 13 seasons, as well as helping out with bake sales and socials. You would always find the Wilsons at the tree next to the ping pong tables with the Rizzis, Potenas, Traugers and her sister-in-law’s family, Dot and Tom Gardner and nephew/niece, Jeffrey and Linda. She loved the socials held at the pool and watching her Tommy play volleyball with the “boys.”
Nancy very much enjoyed her outings with girlfriends at RMacs/TapRoom on Crystal Lake and cherished those friendships, as well as the high school friendships she maintained, throughout her entire life. She loved music and was a jitterbug queen!
Nancy’s life was first and foremost dedicated to her daughters and grandchildren. She loved and supported them throughout the trials and tribulations of life, was the glue that kept the family together, and she oh, so loved, family holiday gatherings, as well as social gatherings with friends.
Anyone who knew Nancy loved her for her down-to-earth, fun loving nature, especially all her daughters’ friends whom she welcomed with open arms. She had a contagious smile and heartfelt laughter and Nancy genuinely cared about everyone who crossed her threshold and treated them all like family. Nancy will be sorely missed, but a piece of her shall continue to live on within each of her daughters, son-in-laws, grandchildren and her many friends.
We love you so very much and you will be sadly missed; but you shall forever be held close in a special place within our hearts for eternity and beyond!
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Sunday 9:00 – 11:00 am at the Egizi Funeral Home 119 Ganttown Road, Washington Twp. Funeral Service 11:00 am.
